The Excite to Write project covers a range of activities within the Chenderit cluster of schools in South Northamptonshire. More detail about Excite to Write and its activities is available on the About Page.
In the 2008/09 year, pupils and teachers from the eleven schools will visit Silverstone Study Centre at the Silverstone Motor Racing Circuit as a stimulus to write and perform across a variety of media. The creative process will not be limited to the Silverstone visit but nurtured back in school, at home and across cyberspace.
30 students from each school visit Silverstone Study Centre for a day of exciting, interactive motorsport themed activities. Anna will be visiting the schools for follow up lessons based on the work undertaken on the days in the centre.

Check out the ‘Excite to Write’ website for full details. It covers resources for teachers and children, latest news and latest writing, performance, activities and school website links. It also links to Northamptonshire County Council’s Learning Platform ‘enable’, which all schools in the county have logins for. Every child will have a password to access the platform and their own individual e-learning space.
The project will make use of Northamptonshire’s Learning Platform to foster effective communication and collaboration between participating schools and other invited guests. The Excite to Write website will celebrate the pupils’ achievements as well as giving an insight into the processes involved. The project should also throw up a number of learning resources that might be of benefit for other teachers and students. These resources will be freely available on this site.
This week, children from reception and years 1-3 from Boddington Primary School visited the Silverstone Study Centre and the track. Click here to see how they got on…..

Anna says “It was great to see the little ones get so much out of their visit. They loved the track and did a great interview with Steve Deeks, asking some intelligent questions.”
Helena says “I had a really good morning, the children worked really hard. I was gutted to miss the race in the afternoon.”
